Welcome to Dobbs Blog!

Shawn in Toronto

Me in downtown Toronto

Hi, and welcome to the Dobbs Blog!

My name is Shawn Dobbs. I am excited to have the opportunity to celebrate and explore the journey of life through this blog.  As the Adjustment Counselor at Bosma Enterprises, I help adults who are newly blind and visually impaired with the psychological and emotional adjustment of living with their vision loss.

While I work as a mental health professional, my time outside of Bosma is spent trying to live life to the fullest, which often results in some very interesting adventures! From hanging out in the inner-city of Toronto, leading a small group through my church, spending time at a local sports bar or traveling to rural Costa Rica, I have embraced the reality that life truly is an adventure.  It is my hope that the Dobbs Blog will be entertaining and thought provoking, along with being a place to share stories and explore ideas.

My motivation in life is really simple. As a 37 year man who is totally blind, I am always looking for the chance to meet new people and build relationships, for I believe that the best way to create opportunities for those who are blind or visually impaired is best accomplished by showing people that you are just like them.

My goal is to update the Dobbs Blog on a weekly basis.  Please feel free to check back to see what I am up to, and don’t hesitate to leave comments!
